The Hampshire Churches Medieval Graffiti Survey 2018
Active recording of graffiti has been aided by a number of groups outside the HFC; some of these are detailed in the updates for 2018 given below.

Southampton:
- An enthusiastic graffiti survey group has been set up by Southampton Archaeology Society. The group has been meeting regularly and has already completed surveys of a number of sites in Southampton, including:
- Gods House Tower
- St Julian’s church
- South Stoneham church
- Tudor House Museum attic
- A survey at Eling church will be starting soon.
The tower of St Maurice, Winchester.
Winchester:
- Another group has been set up looking at Winchester sites.
- The churches of St Matthew at Weeke and St John the Baptist have been surveyed.
- Exciting finds in the tower at St John the Baptist led to the group being featured in an article in the Sunday Telegraph in March, and interviews on Radio 4 and the UCB channel network.
- The survey at St Cross continues, continuing to reveal a magnificent range of graffiti. We are aiming to produce a Graffiti Trail for visitors there, which should be ready in time for the Heritage Open Days event in September.
